When Billingshurst Dramatic Society was formed in 1941, the first production performed in The Women's Hall was The Rivals, originally written by Richard Brinsley Sheridan in the late 18th Century.

 

As 2023 is the centenary year of The Women's Hall, we thought it would be a fabulous idea to recreate one of our early productions. What a pleasant surprise then to discover that our very own Barry Syder had adapted The Rivals for performance by HAODS (Horsham Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society) in 2014! We wrestled the script off him and will be performing it towards the end of the year.
